INDIAN GODDESS DURGA

Papia Ghoshal experimented with a complete new form of goddess Durga. The idol doesn't have weapons in her ten hands, as per traditionally conceived. She makes her demon (evil egos in humans) lose by baul music trance. Her weapons are her musical instruments and the baul sadhana. This unique form of the revered goddess is made from the soil of the sacred river Ganges. It's Papia's non Aryan tribal form of her baul Durga. Currently exhibited at GALLERY NGO DEI, 1st floor, at the solo exhibition of Papia Ghoshal named TANTRA, curated by Leinhart Foundation in collaboration with the TIBET OPEN HOUSE.
