Fine artist, poet, singer and an actor from Calcutta, Papia Ghoshal is a versatile personality who made a prominent brand name in the International scenario creating thousands of paintings, six books of poems, directing and acting in few feature & documentary films &being the lead singer in her Bengali folk music band 'Papia & Baishnav tantra'. She is shuttling between Kolkata (India), London & Prague all the time with her various gigs that has immense populrity & fan following to a vast extent.

Papia Ghoshal is a graduate from University of Calcutta, in Political Science, Sociology & Indian Classical Music (vocal). She has also done her 6th year Diploma in Indian Classical Vocal music, Rabindra Sangeet & Bengali Folk Music. Later she did her further studies in Fine Arts from Merton College London& dedicated herself to Indian art.Papia was a student of Indian legendary painter Prakash Karmakar for over 15 years.

She is the International Editor of "The London Miscellany", dedicated to literature & art,first founded in the UK in 1825. Till 2009 she was the International Editor of The London Magazine, first founded in 1732. In recent times, she is also the curator of Gallery Indian Images based in Kolkata, London and Prague (Czech Republic).

Papia's works are unique & bold. Papia often breaks the boundaries between reality & fantasy. Her first book of poems 'The Days of Menstruation' had been translated into English & Czech. Her poems takes her readers to the visual imageries of her paintings and vice-versa. Her readers are waiting anxiously to her first novel to be published by the end of this year 2014.

Her first painting series The World of Forbidden Dreams became famous due to the fact, that she being a woman artist specializes in male nudity and she uses different forms of male organs to metaforize the subject of her painting.
